Dragonflies and damselflies (Insecta: Odonata) of the Kole Wetlands, central Kerala, India

A year-long study was conducted at the Kole Wetlands, a Ramsar site in central Kerala to document diversity of dragonflies and damselflies understand their seasonality. Checklist survey method used sample adult odonates 30 randomly chosen locations. total 44 species (30 14 damselflies) belonging 33 genera eight families were recorded area. Species richness showed peak post-monsoon season dip summer. The observations support value Wetlands providing valuable resources for Odonata.
